Carnival

Christ the King put on their annual fund raising carnival a few weekends ago. We live pretty close so we packed up the kids and biked over. They had a blast and didn't want to leave. Addie was too little to ride anything last year but still couldn't ride on all the rides Connor went on. She probably would have loved them but she is still too short. Need to get the girl some wedges next year ;)

Doggy Days

I just stumbled across these pictures John took a few weeks ago. He was watching the kids while I went to see Spank! with the girls. They bought Zoey and Jackson doggy pizzas to celebrate their birthdays.

Hockey

Connor got to go to his first hockey game a few weeks ago with his Aunt Nancy. It was a late birthday gift and to say he had fun would be an understatement. It made me grin ear to ear as he told me all about it when he got home that night. From what they ate (hot dogs, cotton candy) to meeting Thunderbug, he had so much excitement in his voice.

Can you tell they are related? ;)

Nancy also got him his Lightning t-shirt that he is wearing in the pictures…that he has already worn at least 3 more times! If I did laundry more frequently he would probably wear it even more.

Thanks, Aunt Nancy!

Odds and Ends

I may have mentioned we've been busy lately ;) Here is a glimpse at what we've been up to over the last month...

Easter
Easter fell a few days after we moved. We didn’t go all out this year and the only egg hunt the kids participated in was at school, but the Easter bunny still found us :)

Gymnastics
Gymnastics has come to an end much to Addie’s disappointment but we had a scheduling conflict. We enrolled her in a parent/child swim class which is actually a little earlier on Saturday mornings, but Connor has T-Ball at the same time and I'd like to see him play. I just signed her up today for the summer session which starts mid-June. She can't wait :) Unfortunately I don't have great pictures of gymnastics since we're typically moving the whole time.

 Swimming
Connor and Addie are both in swimming classes now. Our pool isn’t quite open for business but we wanted them to start getting acquainted with the water sooner than later. Connor is doing great and seems to really enjoy it. His class is on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:15 pm. Addie is hit or miss but her class is at 8:30 am on Saturday morning. I don’t know many people who enjoy swimming that early so I can't blame her. The weather has also not been cooperating much for her class so that is probably part of it. Last weekend was the first sunny and (slightly) warm morning and she enjoyed the entire class.

T-Ball
Connor is nearing the end of another T-Ball season. I’m still not sure he really likes the sport itself or just getting to play with his buddies but he enjoys it nonetheless. As long as he wants to do it we’ll keep signing him up.

(yes, we've since gotten his hair cut :p)

Play dates
We've had a lot of play dates in the last month and more to come this weekend! We have a great group of friends here :)

Haircuts!
Swimming brought to our attention how badly Connor needed another haircut as he was constantly having to brush it out of his face. So we went for haircuts and Addie decided she needed one too. She really didn't but I wasn't going to turn her down. If she was up for it, so was I :) She did great, it was like she had been getting haircuts for years. She is such a girly girl :)

Moving

After months of searching we finally settled on a house we wanted to call home. Several inspections later, a new roof and a lot of stress we finally closed on our house. We couldn’t really move though until the following week when John had some help but we had to be out of our rental before the end of the month to avoid paying another month of rent. We would have loved to have taken that whole week off of work but we are just too busy to take time off so we juggled packing and moving in between work and sleep. Oh, and the kids daycare was closed that Friday and Monday for Easter and Staff training. Lovely timing K We did it though! I can’t say it was an easy week but at least it is all behind us now. And now comes the fun stuff! The house we bought is totally livable but we consider it a fixer-upper. It was build in 1950 so it needs a lot of upgrades. It was also infested with termites and had to be tented before we moved in so there is a lot of damage from that we need to repair as well. I’ll share before and after pictures as we complete projects around the house. It also has a pool which we’re pretty excited about especially as the summer months approach us. Except it has also turned out to be another project as it needs to be resurfaced. Ah, the joys of home ownership!

Endless number of boxes and 'stuff'

Our rental, just about empty

The kids hangin' by the pool, they love their new home!

Addie's 2nd Birthday

Hello again….sorry for the lack of posts this past month. Hopefully I didn’t lose too many followers! To say we’ve been busy would be an understatement. If I wait until things calm down though you may never hear from me again. So my posts will have more pictures than words and I’ll just highlight on the big moments. I have so much to catch you up on! This post will be dedicated to Addie’s 2nd birthday though. The poor girls’ birthday couldn’t have come at a worse time. We closed on our new house on March 22nd and moving day was March 27th and her birthday (March 26th) fell right smack in the middle of complete chaos. So we didn’t have a party per se but we did have lots of mini celebrations! We took cupcakes and cookies to her class on her birthday and then had pizza and opened presents in our (empty) new house on her actual birthday. A couple of weekends later both sets of grandparents came to see the new house so we celebrated again then with more cupcakes J I know she had to be thinking ‘what the … where is MY party?’ though because she has been to more birthday parties than I can count in the last couple of months. Next year Addie, I promise, you will get a big birthday party!!!

BeBe and Grandpa got her her own little kitchen for her new room and she absolutely loves it! Connor loves it too! She also got a lot of clothes, dishes, shopping cart, umbrella, purse, Tinkerbell towel and a few other kitchen accessories. She did pretty good considering she didn’t have a party! You can view all birthday related pictures here.

♥♥ Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet little princess!! ♥♥
