School Happenings

The kids day care started water play last week which is every Friday over the Summer. How fun for the kids?! They are to come to school dressed and ready to go in their bathing suits, water shoes and sunscreen. John snuck out for a quick peek and took these pics. Every class participates, even the infants!

Connor also started tennis yesterday. He said he likes it more than soccer so that's good. Click here if you want to learn more about it. There is even a short video clip so you can get a better idea of what they do. He came home with a sticker on his back that shared what they did in class:

TODAY - Everyone warmed up by high stepping through the ladder and cones. We then hit the forehand "on the run" practicing our follow through. We practiced serving today and finished up with a game of "fast feet."

I picked up Addison yesterday to find her hair all done up. I don't know how they managed to get her to sit still long enough. She lets me put her hair up, but not like this!

Connor's hair is getting pretty long too! He hates it when we have to wet it every morning to tame it down, but doesn't want to cut it just yet. He let me see if his hair was long enough for a pony....and it is! :p

Lastly, I have a  short video to share. The kids have really started to enjoy playing together. It is so cute to watch. Addison laughs at almost anything Connor does.

Father's Day Weekend

We had a nice and relaxing Father's Day weekend. We spent a few hours at the beach on Saturday. The kids had a great time playing in the sand. Addie would squeal in delight as you dipped her in and out of the water. Which must have all worn her out, as she took a nice little nap during our car ride home.

That afternoon Connor helped me make Daddy's favorite, Mary Champion cake. Sunday morning, while Daddy was still sleeping, Connor helped me make the whipped topping for the cake and even helped me wrap Daddy's gift. Well, he handed me tape when I needed it :) Addison took it all in from her high chair while she ate her breakfast. Once Daddy got up, we had breakfast and then lounged around the house. After lunch we had cake and Connor helped Daddy open his present. Connor enjoyed every second of it, though he kept wanting to sing Happy Birthday :) Later we went to the YMCA to check out their pool. We've been debating a membership there and finally got around to getting a guest pass. It's pretty close to our house so it would be nice to have access to a pool, especially in the summer months. Click here for more pictures from our weekend.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! We ♥♥♥ you!!! And happy Father's Day to my Dad, Father-in-Law, and to all the great dad's in my life. We couldn't do it without you!

Memorial Day Weekend

The kids stayed with Grandma and Papa over Memorial Day weekend while John and I headed to Key West with some friends. To say they had a blast would be an understatement. They were spoiled in so many ways, I don't know where to start! Addie got a trike, Connor got a Big Wheel, they painted, built Lego's, you name it they probably did it. The bikes stayed there but we brought the Lego's home with us. It was a car themed collection, with a tow truck, race car, jeep, etc. Connor has had more fun taking them apart and rebuilding his own creations. Great gift Papa! We just have to make sure little Addie doesn't get a hold of any of those teeny tiny pieces.

John and I had a great time as well. A friend of ours organized the trip as a surprise to her husband. He ended up finding out about the trip beforehand but didn't know who all was going. There were 7 other couples that went. We rode the Key West ferry from Fort Myers which took a little over 3 hours...better than driving! We stayed at the Crowne Plaza right in the middle of Duval Street. The hotel was nothing to write home about but it was a great location.

Beautiful Key West sunset. Our phones hardly did this justice.

Post sunset in Mallory Square

Having a mojito...or two :)

We left our mark on Key West!
I have pictures to share but they are from once we got back as we stayed another day. The ferry we took to the Keys didn't get back until almost 11 pm Monday night and then we still had an hour drive back to the house. So getting up and driving back early the next morning for work was not really even an option to us. Plus we needed a day to recover from vacation :p We mostly relaxed around the house but managed to fit in a trip to the pool.

We are beyond grateful to Grandma and Papa for watching the kiddos....and the dogs! We couldn't have done it without you.

Soccer Shots

The Spring season of Soccer Shots has come and gone. I enjoyed picking Connor up on Wednesdays, soccer day, to hear all about his class. And he seemed to really like his coach. I never got to see it firsthand but John watched him one day and managed to get a few pictures. I was impressed! While Connor loved it, we’re not enrolling him in the Summer season. He said he’d like to try something new so we’re thinking about TotStart Tennis, a tennis program specifically structured for 2 – 6 year olds. How cute does that sound? Stay tuned...
