Memorial Day Weekend

The kids stayed with Grandma and Papa over Memorial Day weekend while John and I headed to Key West with some friends. To say they had a blast would be an understatement. They were spoiled in so many ways, I don't know where to start! Addie got a trike, Connor got a Big Wheel, they painted, built Lego's, you name it they probably did it. The bikes stayed there but we brought the Lego's home with us. It was a car themed collection, with a tow truck, race car, jeep, etc. Connor has had more fun taking them apart and rebuilding his own creations. Great gift Papa! We just have to make sure little Addie doesn't get a hold of any of those teeny tiny pieces.

John and I had a great time as well. A friend of ours organized the trip as a surprise to her husband. He ended up finding out about the trip beforehand but didn't know who all was going. There were 7 other couples that went. We rode the Key West ferry from Fort Myers which took a little over 3 hours...better than driving! We stayed at the Crowne Plaza right in the middle of Duval Street. The hotel was nothing to write home about but it was a great location.

Beautiful Key West sunset. Our phones hardly did this justice.

Post sunset in Mallory Square

Having a mojito...or two :)

We left our mark on Key West!
I have pictures to share but they are from once we got back as we stayed another day. The ferry we took to the Keys didn't get back until almost 11 pm Monday night and then we still had an hour drive back to the house. So getting up and driving back early the next morning for work was not really even an option to us. Plus we needed a day to recover from vacation :p We mostly relaxed around the house but managed to fit in a trip to the pool.

We are beyond grateful to Grandma and Papa for watching the kiddos....and the dogs! We couldn't have done it without you.
