Halloween

I’m sorry this wasn’t posted sooner. I’ve been really busy plus I was hoping to get better pictures taken of the kids in their costumes. Addison in particular. Halloween was too hot to dress her up, plus I knew she was just going to fall asleep while we were out trick-or-treating so I didn’t want her to be uncomfortable. I hadn’t thought of this until Sunday afternoon and at that point she was not really in a picture taking mood. So don’t be surprised if a few more pictures surface next week of her in her costume again. Grandma and Papa came to visit on Saturday. They got here just as Connor and I were getting ready to go to Gymboree. So Grandma tagged along to watch and brought Addie. Connor had a blast again, especially getting to show off in front of Grandma :) After the FSU game, John and I left the kids with Grandma and Papa and headed over to the Pepell's (Peper's and Fussell's :p) house to watch the FL/Georgia game. It started off good and we were hopeful, but in the end the Dawgs prevailed. Boo. We had fun though, there was pumpkin carving going on, cornhole and we got to scarf down Marti’s yummy chili. We happened to be in Tampa for Halloween last year so it was fun to be included on their traditional activities again. Though we didn’t have a pumpkin. We stopped at a couple of different stores on the way over but they were all sold out! Sunday morning we went to brunch and then headed to a pumpkin patch. There were slim pickings. Needless to say, we didn’t get to carve a pumpkin this year. We know not to wait until the last second again! Thankfully Connor is too young to care just yet. He was happy with a couple of mini pumpkins. Grandma and Papa left just as we were getting more visitors – Tim and Erin! I was so excited to see my friends! This was their first trip over to see our new place. We mostly hung out at the house, grilled burgers and caught up with one another. Later we headed over to Hyde Park to check out their art festival but we got there just as they started packing things up. The day was coming to an end so we said goodbye to Tim and Erin. Hopefully this is just the first of many visits ;)

If you look closely you can see her tooth in this picture :)
Monday morning Connor’s school was having a costume parade. We were really excited about it, I thought it would be super cute to see all the little kids parading around in their costumes. But it didn’t quite go like that. This was their first year having something like this and they didn’t quite have it all together. Plus it was raining and it was supposed to be held outside on the playground. Thankfully they have an indoor gym but it was just a chaotic mess. Oh well, Connor still enjoyed us being there. We picked up the kids later that day and headed back over to the Pepell’s to go trick-or-treating! Connor had a blast. He didn’t want the night to end! We had a lot of practice earlier last week knocking on the door and saying “Trick-or-Treat!” So he knew just what to do. Addison passed out a few houses in. Her normal bedtime is 7 pm and we didn’t even start until 6:30 pm. We got home around 9 pm which is even passed Connor’s bedtime. He did good though, especially considering all the candy he had consumed. All that trick-or-treating wore him out! I took a lot of pictures over the weekend. Click here to view them all.
