4th of July Weekend

We started our long weekend down in Cape Haze visiting Grandma and Papa. We spent the 4th poolside and later watched fireworks at our friends Jeremy and Danielle's house. The kids had fun with Jayce and were up late watching a movie together.

We had some more pool time on Saturday before celebrating Papa's birthday! We had ribeye's for dinner with salad and baked beans and then gluten free cupcakes for desert :) Yum! We left after Papa opened our present as we wanted to get to Lido Key before it got too late. We were meeting up with the Fluker's for the rest of the weekend to watch the 30th annual Super Boat Grand Prix on Sunday.

Connor and Addie were pretty excited to be staying the night with Finn and Blaise. We stayed with them and their parents, Raif and Sybil, at their Papa and Jomama's house. They had a great house just a block from the beach. Sunday morning would be hectic with traffic coming onto the island for the races so we were happy to get there and beat all the commotion. Raif got up extra early to setup our tent and we still didn't get front row. It was tent city!!

Sybil and I squeezed in a 5 mile run before the madness ensued...over the bridge and back!

We had a blast at the beach all day. It looked like rain for most of the races but it never came down on us and even cleared up by the afternoon.

We had a really great weekend. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend as well. I have a lot of photos between Sybil and I. Click here to view them all!
