Connor started soccer a few weeks ago and loves it! He never had any interest before but over the summer he played a lot at camp and fell in love. He's pretty good too!
Addie thinks the games are "boring" but has fun on the nearby playground before and after the games.
The Jones Family came to visit us a couple of weekends ago to go to a Rays game. The Rays had a series of summer concerts after home games and this night was Sister Hazel (from Gainesville!). I love Sister Hazel and Jeremy's brother is in the band now which makes it even cooler. Even cooler than that? Getting hooked up with FREE box seats...with the band!
The kids had an absolute blast. We were a little hesitant to bring them as the game wasn't until 6 PM which meant the concert would be late but it was a non-issue. The three of them partied like rock stars!
An old friend of mine, Emily, is married to the Rays new(ish) manager (Kevin Cash). We haven't seen each other in years! I was excited to find out she was going to be at the game so we met up for a hot second to catch up for a bit.
Did I mention the suite came with free food and drinks? Score
Sister Hazel put on a great concert!
Danielle and I stayed up in the suite for the concert but the boys took the kids down to the field to watch them up close. We could see Jeremy and John lounging while the kids ran around and danced their hearts out. Super fun night!
Addie was invited to a Tea Party a couple of weekends ago hosted by one of her new classmates. To say Addie was excited would be an understatement.The party was held at a place called All That Glitters. This company really honed in on all things princess - they thought of everything! We arrived before everyone else so we peeked into the tea room (below) before the party started. I couldn't believe how extravagant this place was! This was right up Addie's alley, she was totally in her element!
Upon arrival the girls picked out their princess outfits. Then it was time to glam up with glitter and tiara's in the make up room!
They also got to decorate a picture frame and dance and sing their hearts out on stage. Which, by the way, was fully equipped with it's own runway.
Then it was time for tea and cupcakes!
I've been waiting to post this hoping that All That Glitters would send us the pictures they took or post them on Facebook or Instagram but they haven't yet. They were snapping away and Addie appeared to be their top model. Seriously. The girl was in her comfort zone. I have never seen her rock the camera like she did....too bad it wasn't mine! I'll be sure to pass along the link if I ever see any of them.
Something tells me we may be here again in March ;)
We didn't have much planned on Labor Day and when the day brought us thunderstorms we needed something to do indoors but out of our house -- Bowling!!
Check out that form! It was a fun couple of hours and nice to do something different with the kids. Gotta keep them on their toes! I will say that Connor was not a great sport when he wasn't winning (beating Addie that is) BUT he still managed to beat me and sadly, I wasn't letting him win :p
The kids and I met up with my friend, Tiffany, and her two boys at Largo Central Park a couple of weekends ago. They have a mini railroad that runs for free the first weekend of every month. I honestly had no idea what to expect but it sounded like fun and worst case scenario, the kids got to run around and expel some of their (everlasting) energy.
The wait was almost 45 min but well worth it. The railroad was over a mile long, lasted about 10 min and was nothing like I had envisioned :p It had a tunnel, bridge, and several railroad crossings where we waived to passerby's.
After the train ride we let the kids loose on the park playground which was hands down the best playground I have ever been to...and the kids agreed! We were there almost 3 hours and they didn't even get to play on everything. We will definitely be going back!
