Videos

We didn't do anything exciting this past weekend so I don't have any pictures to share. I do have some catching up to do with my videos though!

Addie just learned how to clap and it is super cute!
I usually sing Itsy Bitsy Spider to Addison while she is taking a bath. For whatever reason she gets a kick out of that song. After the song ended tonight she clapped for me! How adorable is that? :)

Here is another cute one of her playing with her ball. It looks like she is really trying to say it!

Last but not least is a fun little clip of Addie in her jumper. She loves to jump and has the best time in this thing.
Go Addie, Go! :)

Birthday Party

Connor was invited to a birthday party for a boy in his class at school. We thought it would be fun to go and meet some of the other parents plus it was at the Glazer Children’s Museum. After the party we could check out the museum for free! Connor had a good time and it was fun to watch him interact with his friends at school. I forgot our camera so I didn’t get to capture it :( John took a few with his cell phone which I’ve included below. The museum was really cool. All of the exhibits are about the world we live in and they’re all hands-on. My favorite was the mini Publix. Connor looked so cute pushing his little cart around picking out groceries! He knew just what to do. He loves to go to the store these days to "buy something." His favorite was the fire engine. He could climb in it and pretend to drive and turn on the siren. We had a hard time getting him out of it!

Halloween

I’m sorry this wasn’t posted sooner. I’ve been really busy plus I was hoping to get better pictures taken of the kids in their costumes. Addison in particular. Halloween was too hot to dress her up, plus I knew she was just going to fall asleep while we were out trick-or-treating so I didn’t want her to be uncomfortable. I hadn’t thought of this until Sunday afternoon and at that point she was not really in a picture taking mood. So don’t be surprised if a few more pictures surface next week of her in her costume again. Grandma and Papa came to visit on Saturday. They got here just as Connor and I were getting ready to go to Gymboree. So Grandma tagged along to watch and brought Addie. Connor had a blast again, especially getting to show off in front of Grandma :) After the FSU game, John and I left the kids with Grandma and Papa and headed over to the Pepell's (Peper's and Fussell's :p) house to watch the FL/Georgia game. It started off good and we were hopeful, but in the end the Dawgs prevailed. Boo. We had fun though, there was pumpkin carving going on, cornhole and we got to scarf down Marti’s yummy chili. We happened to be in Tampa for Halloween last year so it was fun to be included on their traditional activities again. Though we didn’t have a pumpkin. We stopped at a couple of different stores on the way over but they were all sold out! Sunday morning we went to brunch and then headed to a pumpkin patch. There were slim pickings. Needless to say, we didn’t get to carve a pumpkin this year. We know not to wait until the last second again! Thankfully Connor is too young to care just yet. He was happy with a couple of mini pumpkins. Grandma and Papa left just as we were getting more visitors – Tim and Erin! I was so excited to see my friends! This was their first trip over to see our new place. We mostly hung out at the house, grilled burgers and caught up with one another. Later we headed over to Hyde Park to check out their art festival but we got there just as they started packing things up. The day was coming to an end so we said goodbye to Tim and Erin. Hopefully this is just the first of many visits ;)

If you look closely you can see her tooth in this picture :)
Monday morning Connor’s school was having a costume parade. We were really excited about it, I thought it would be super cute to see all the little kids parading around in their costumes. But it didn’t quite go like that. This was their first year having something like this and they didn’t quite have it all together. Plus it was raining and it was supposed to be held outside on the playground. Thankfully they have an indoor gym but it was just a chaotic mess. Oh well, Connor still enjoyed us being there. We picked up the kids later that day and headed back over to the Pepell’s to go trick-or-treating! Connor had a blast. He didn’t want the night to end! We had a lot of practice earlier last week knocking on the door and saying “Trick-or-Treat!” So he knew just what to do. Addison passed out a few houses in. Her normal bedtime is 7 pm and we didn’t even start until 6:30 pm. We got home around 9 pm which is even passed Connor’s bedtime. He did good though, especially considering all the candy he had consumed. All that trick-or-treating wore him out! I took a lot of pictures over the weekend. Click here to view them all.

7 Months!

Another month has come and gone, Addison is now 7 months old!! She is not quite crawling yet but she is very close. She loves to practice though! I'll make sure to get a video of her in action as soon as we have forward motion :) She also got her first tooth a couple of weeks ago (on BeBe's birthday to be exact!). She is eating well and we're having fun trying all sorts of fruits now. So far her favorites seem to be apples and carrots. She will officially be on formula at the end of this week. I stopped breastfeeding a month ago so I had a good supply!

We took her to the doctor's office for her second flu shot this morning so we got to weigh her. She now weighs 15 lbs 4 oz. She handled her shot very well, but not as good as her brother! We were so proud of Connor today. We talked it up, letting him know what the doctor was going to do. We told him if he was good he would get fruit snacks afterwards. He said he wanted a band-aid and a sticker. Deal! We took him in not only for his flu shot but to get his breathing checked out. If you've ever been around him you know how loudly he breathes, especially when he is sleeping. He's been like that since birth so we dismiss it for the most part. It wasn't brought to our attention again until he switched school's. His teacher was worried about him. We thought it wasn't a bad idea to get another opinion by our new pediatrician. He said the same thing though, nothing to worry about and he should grow out of it. He thinks it's just his large adnoids. He did suggest getting an ENT's opinion but isn't worried. Connor is due to get his ear tubes checked on so we'll ask about that too when the time comes.

Back to Addie, she is just such a happy go lucky baby. She goes with the flow, the only thing she could do better is nap a little longer. She only gives us 30 min cat naps here and there. She hardly naps at all at daycare. We're actually looking at getting her into Connor's daycare. I would love to have them at the same place. I think there are just too many babies where she is at now. There is so much going on at all times, she doesn't want to nap afraid she'll miss something! LOL

Fall Festivities

Let the Fall festivities begin! We're loving this cooler weather and trying to do more outdoors these days. This past Saturday we took a little trip up to Hyde Park where they had a pet masquerade going on. You guessed it, dogs dressed up in Halloween costumes everywhere! They even had a costume competition. We didn't know that was going on when we headed over there, we just wanted to snap a few pictures of the kids around pumpkins. Our friends Jen and Jonathan met us up there with their girls. I think both Connor and Addison enjoyed the pumpkins/scenery, but neither of them were into picture taking. I'm definitely finding it harder to get good pictures now that there are two of them involved. After the pumpkins we went to lunch at The Lime. They had a guy playing the guitar which Connor thoroughly enjoyed. My favorite part was the bloody Mary cart :)

Sunday I took Connor to his first Gymboree class. We've checked Gymboree out before but for open gym time only. It took him about 10 minutes to warm up to the teacher and other kids but once he did he had a blast! We'll definitely be going back soon. The rest of the afternoon we hung out on our back patio. We are loving it, it's a nice feature of the house, something we didn't have before. It's still a work in progress but we have added a TV, stereo, seating and dart board. A really nice place to hang out now that the weather is so nice. The dogs seem to enjoy it too.

The link to the rest of our pumpkin pictures is here. Like I mentioned before, neither of the kids were much into cooperating - enjoy!

BeBe's Birthday Visit

BeBe and Grandpa came down to visit this past Saturday. Bebe wanted to go out to lunch in Tampa for her birthday. Sounded like a good idea to us! We took them to Jackson's on Harbour Island, a great restaurant to sit outside and enjoy the view of the water. Lunch was good, the weather was nice and the kids were great....especially Addison considering I left her bottle at home. Talk about a rookie mistake. I'm actually surprised this is the first time I've ever done that. She was due to eat right around the time we got there but thankfully she never once cried. There was too much going on around her which kept her preoccupied.

Afterwards we went back to the house and had cake! Connor helped me make it that morning. His favorite part was licking the mixer spoons when we were done. His second favorite part was helping BeBe blow out her candles! He insisted on 5 of them. 5 seems to be his new favorite number as he wants 5 of everything these days :)

Connor loves to sit in Addison's bumbo seat :p

It was a nice visit, Happy Birthday BeBe!!

Photo Shoot

We took the kids to have their pictures taken this weekend. Addison was due for her 6 month pictures and we thought we'd try to get one or two of them together if we could. It's hard enough to get one baby to smile on demand, try two! So it didn't go as smoothly as I had wanted and it really is hard to get to get two kids to cooperate/smile at the same time. We still managed to get some cute shots though. The link to all of our pictures is here.

Waldo Trip

We made a trip up to Waldo/Gainesville this past weekend. The Pathfinder needed some attention and Bebe and Grandpa are always up for a visit :) Connor and I enjoyed some pool time. This would likely be the last time for us to enjoy any swimming this year so I willingly obliged despite the cooler weather. Connor also had fun playing in Bebe's van. Nana came out to visit with the kiddos for a bit on Saturday. Addison enjoyed her company, she was so relaxed she took a little snooze on her. The kids were in good hands so John and I went to Gainesville to tailgate for the Florida game. It was a sad loss but we had a great time! We also got to spend some time with Steve and Uncle Chris over the weekend. Overall a great time as always. I captured a few cute pictures along the way, click here for your viewing pleasure.

Addison looks like she could take off crawling any minute now. If she is on her tummy and sees something she wants she really tries to go for it! She has the right moves, she just needs to put them all together. Connor is still doing great in his big boy bed. Addison is also enjoying her 'new' crib. I thought Connor would've had a harder time letting go of his furniture but it was a non issue. We are looking forward to spending more time outdoors now that the weather is getting cooler. Time to get our patio completed!! I know I still owe you all pictures of our new place. I'll work on that this weekend....

Connor helping Addie get acclimated in her new bed :) He sure does love his sister!!

6 Months Old!

Addison had her 6 month check-up this morning. Everything looked good and she seemed to like her new pediatrician (as did we). Her new stats are as follows:

Height: 25 inches (24th percentile)
Weight: 14 lbs 12 oz (26th percentile)
Head: 16.25 inches (18th percentile)

She handled her shots like a rock star. There were no tears! She is such an angel, we've really lucked out. She is still doing good sleeping and has now added peas and carrots to her diet. I don't think I've mentioned this yet but she is also doing much better in the car! Yay! She hasn't popped out a tooth yet but is definitely teething. I looked back at Connor's records and his first tooth was at 6 1/2 months so we should be seeing one any day now. I'll keep you posted! Addison's second word was Dada. She said it for him last weekend when he was home alone with the kids. She said it and then Connor said "She just said Dada!" It's cute how excited he gets about her doing things just as we do :)

Baby Jayce

We made a trip down to Cape Haze this past Sunday where we got to see/meet baby Jayce! Our good friends Jeremy and Danielle had their baby boy 3 weeks ago. We've been dying to get down there to see him and finally had a free day to do it. Connor stayed with Grandma and Papa while we went for our visit. He had a blast and naturally didn't want to go home.

Addie and Jayce having a moment ;) She was very interested in him!
We were also able to pick up Connor's new big boy bed! John's parents kept his old bunk beds all these years so we thought we'd just use those. Connor seems ready and Addison could really use a real bed (she's still in the pack-n-play). We've been talking it up a lot lately to get him ready. He was really excited, especially when he got home from school yesterday to find it all put together! We left the crib in his room and gave him the choice as to which bed he wanted to sleep in. We were excited that he chose to sleep in his new bed. He did great! He woke up this morning so proud. I asked if he was ready to give his baby bed to Addie and he said "Yes!!" We'll see how the next few nights go but so far so good.
